Teacher, Reacher, Rambler.

I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.

Welcome to the home I have created to store my many messy thoughts and big ideas about the teaching and learning of little people.

Firstly, thank you for being a reader of my research and ramblings regarding matters concerning primary education.

I feel like I owe you a brief introduction, to help you gain a picture of who is behind the keyboard. It is simple really, a once teacher of little people, turned teacher of future teachers, but still an absolute advocate for learning.

Despite some turbulent times, I have been persistently presented with copious opportunities to continue to be as much of a learner as the children and trainee teachers I am lucky enough to teach. I have also been lucky enough to be surrounded by some truly fantastic and inspirational teachers and leaders along the way.

During my teacher-life, I have worn a variety of hats. I have taught in every year group, lead a few different curriculum areas (maths is my subject specialism), and even been a phase lead. My favourite (after class teacher) hat of all has been returning to student life, putting myself completely out of my comfort zone, and winging my way through a MA in education. It opened my mind and heart and ultimately made me understand what it really means to be a learner.

I am not claiming to be an academic. Learning is messy and I often single handily steer myself totally off-piste AND in the completely wrong direction.

This small space is simply for me to house the things that I have learned through far too much reading, busy bodying into other people’s research (whilst dabbling into some of my own!) and finally, the odd reflection into my own practice and experiences…

Every idea and view is my own. I am by no means an educational guru or ‘expert’, just simply a big thinker and regular reflector.

So with that, I wish you happy reading and hopefully some learning along the way..
